Some accounts on Kanvie carry a verification badge. It's a small checkmark that shows we've confirmed the account really belongs to the person or group it claims to represent.

Why We Verify Accounts

The main reason we verify accounts is to help prevent impersonation. If someone's likely to be copied or faked, whether they're well-known or not, we may verify them.

This can include public figures, brands, creators, journalists, or even someone with a small audience who's being impersonated. It's about risk, not just reach.

Applying for Verification

You can apply for verification once.

1. How to Apply

Go to your profile
Tap Edit profile
Select Verification
Tap Start application
Please prepare:
1. A short explanation of why you're applying (especially if you've been impersonated)
2. Relevant links (e.g. press mentions, official websites, other verified profiles)
Follow the on-screen instructions

We review all applications manually. Decisions are final unless you're invited to reapply.

2. After Applying

If we believe your account should be verified, we are able to proceed with your application. We will need more information to fully verify your profile.

A government-issued ID (for individuals)
Official documentation (for organizations)

We will update you on the status of your request after we are able to confirm your identity.

When We Might Remove Your Badge

Verification isn't permanent. We may remove your badge, with or without notice, if any of the following happen:

You change your username or significantly alter your profile info (like name or image), making it unclear who you are
You violate our platform rules or community guidelines
You attempt to mislead or impersonate others, even jokingly
You use the badge to promote misleading content, scams, or disinformation
You become inactive for long periods or abandon the account
You request removal or delete your account

We may also remove verification if the risk of impersonation no longer exists, for example, if the public interest around the account fades over time or the entity it represents ceases to operate.

Good to Know

The badge always looks the same, no matter who you are.
It's not for sale. You can't buy verification, and it's not included with paid features.
We may verify accounts proactively, even without an application.

What the Badge Doesn't Mean

Getting verified doesn't mean:

We endorse what you post
You'll get more reach, support, or privileges
You're “better” than unverified users

It simply means: you're the real you, and that's been confirmed.
