Recipe Step Templates

article-header-img

Recipe Step Templates are a tool that helps you write recipe instructions that are clear, consistent, and fast to create. Instead of typing out everything manually, you can pick from a set of common cooking actions, like Bake, Cut, Mix, Fry, Grill, Marinate, Steam, and many more. Kanvie will pre-format the step for you.

They're designed to be useful whether you're making a family recipe, crafting content for an audience, or building a professional cooking guide.

Using Templates

  1. Start creating a recipe
  2. Tap Add template while viewing a step
  3. Select your template
  4. Fill in only the fields that matter for that action. Some examples:
    • Bake → add time + temperature + oven setting
    • Grill → add time + temperature
    • Cut → choose how to cut (dice, slice, grate, etc.)
    • Mix → add time + mixing style (whisk, knead, fold…)
    • Marinate → add time
    • Ferment / Pickle / Defrost → no details required
