Tracking Your Nutrition
Kanvie lets you track your daily nutrition by logging individual ingredients and products, or entire recipes using your diary. You can also import nutritional data from Apple Health or Health Connect.
What You Can Keep Track Of
You can log individual ingredients, food products and entire recipes to your diary.
Each item includes nutritional data such as:
- Calories
- Protein, Carbs, Fat
- Sugar, Fiber, Sodium
- Serving size and quantity
How to Track an Ingredient or Product
- Go to the Ingredient or Product you'd like to add to your diary
- Enter serving size and quantity (example: 2 cups, 30g, 1 bottle)
- Tap Add to Diary
- Select a category (like breakfast, lunch, or dinner)
- Review the time of day for your entry
- Tap the Save button
The daily nutrition totals of your diary will update automatically.
How to Track a Recipe
- Go to the Recipe you'd like to add to your diary
- Tap Add to Diary
- Review the amount of servings and quantity for each ingredient
- Tap Continue
- Select a category (like breakfast, lunch, or dinner)
- Review the time of day for your entry
- Tap the Save button
The entire recipe, including references to all of its contents, will be added to the daily nutrition totals of your diary automatically.
Viewing Your Daily Summary in Your Diary
After logging ingredients, products, or recipes, go to your Diary 📖 to see:
- Total calories consumed
- Your calorie budget for the day
- Macros breakdown (Protein, Carbs, Fats)
- Key nutrients (Fiber, Sugar, Sodium, etc.)
Importing from Apple Health or Health Connect
If you prefer automatic tracking from other sources, like e.g. Yazio or MyFitnessPal, Kanvie can pull calories, macro nutrients and micro nutrients from directly from your device's nutritional data sources. This can be data from your smart devices, or other food diary apps than Kanvie.
